DECONSTRUCTING TIME: This blog is about the human experience of time. We are immersed in time. We take time as a fact of life and think very little about its workings, yet we are at its mercy. In a sense time is all you have: on your gravestone will be your name, the date you were born and the date you died.
What could we gain by standing a bit outside of time? Although the clock will continue to tick, your relation to time will be changed. (All photos: commons.wikimedia.org unless noted.)
What a great way to start a blog on the subject of time: Goodbye 2012 and here comes 2013. Out with the old, in with the new? Or is there more to this annual passing of the torch?
In this pictured view of time, 2012 fades into the past: over and done with. Yet 2012 is part of a decade, part of the 21st century and part of the 3rd millennium. Events from this year such as the Arab Spring people's revolts, super storm Sandy and the reelection of Barack Obama will affect future events for years to come.
